1) Thousands of sites link to google each day/week. A rapid growth of backlinks. 2) Google most of the time puts my advrts (adword program) on unrelated websites which results in loss of time and money for me. 3) Google's filters are not one of the greatest making me filter more and more. 4)Google makes money selling links (adwords/adsense). I know that this is not for PR boost, but it forces webmasters to use non-standard 'no-follow'. Why? 5)Google puts as many advrts as it displays search results. Most of the time people just click ads and never bother the search results. Will google penalize itself for all these?
Why should it? I mean, I'm with you that Google is telling us not to do something and then doing it, but why should Google stop? They make loads of money and people make loads of money from them as well. Sure, they get a lot of backlinks, but they are also the ones that control everything. If people aren't happy with Google, try and get listed in MSN or Yahoo. Now I am not bashing you or anything, but it's just how I feel.
yea google is also doing a business and if it getting profit with that then i don't think it will stop making it..
I am with Kate, here. Of course google is making profit and has the right to do so. But so do we. What google is trying to do is to stop webmasters to make money from links, while their whole revenue is based on it.
1) Thousands of sites link to google each day/week. A rapid growth of backlinks. So, it didn't all go up in 1 spot, its been growing slowly. 2) Google most of the time puts my advrts (adword program) on unrelated websites which results in loss of time and money for me. How would Google Search Engline know this, and whats the Search Engine got to do with the ads they display on other sites? 3) Google's filters are not one of the greatest making me filter more and more. What filters? 4)Google makes money selling links (adwords/adsense). I know that this is not for PR boost, but it forces webmasters to use non-standard 'no-follow'. Why? These links arn't for search engines, which is what they penalize for. 5)Google puts as many advrts as it displays search results. Most of the time people just click ads and never bother the search results. Most of the time... No they don't. NO!
Its their business I guess they can do what they want. I suppose it is a little contradictive but eh, who's gonna stop em?
SEO myth: rapid growth of backlinks = penalty. unless they are low quality links pointed at low quality/spammy site. IMO.
If webmasters start making money by selling links, then the adword advertisers themselves can buy those links on several websites which will ultimately kill the bread and butter of google. However, google shouldn't bother too much into each website. It is their pagerank algorithm that they must modify.
