The govt. leaks secret information. Why haven't we heard of any leaks by a google employee. Seems that after all these years (in relative terms of course) that some employee might have divulged some useful information on googles algo. Any thoughts on this. You can PM me if you know of a site that has this secret information.
The people who know the interesting stuff get paid loads. Unlike government people the core Google personnel is made millionaire the minute they contribute something significant. I'd keep my mouth zipped up for a few mil, no problem. Exposing the secrets isn't worth more than they get paid so there's no need to supply those secrets to the outside world.
They just fired a guy for Blogging about Google, so maybe that is why. Plus Google is not that hard to figure out, just look at the SERP's for a while and it is easy to see how they use them to benefit Google
I can only imagine the crew of people who actually write and tweak the algo. I am sure their pay checks are enough to keep them nice and quite. Not to mention that old school hardcore comuputer people are all about the "Computer Crew" and are more prided on knowing a secret than the money. For me, tell me the algo and I'll tell all!!!!!!jk Instead I would get sites to #1 and make millions!
I use to work at Google until I got fired for calling the white house. I got through to the President and all I said was 'We still have you as a "miserable failure", there seems to be nothing we can do at this end, maybe it's something you are doing you great bafoon!' Then the bastards fired me and I had to move to Australia. So take everything I say about google as gospel. And just remember - given the gene pool, some people never have a chance.
TOPS, I think you understimate how much people would be willing to pay for the algo, I would hold on for 10 million.
The Algo changes daily, but usually it is slight with only big changes randomly. If you knew the algo for even 1 day and could get sites to #1, you could retire that day. Give me the opportunity and I'd split the profits!!!!! 50-50!!!!! Lets here it algo guys!!!!
Why pay a dime for the algo, if you want to get to the top of the SERP's right now go open an ADWORDS account, they will put you at the TOP of the page in a few minutes I have many #1 SERP's in many keywords, take my word for it, they will not make you rich, you will be lucky to get 15 hits a day in some keywords, even popular ones. So your marketing will have to be more than dreaming about getting high in the SERP's and on more than just Google.
I wouldn't "Pay" for it for obvious reasons, but a profit share is definitely a consideration. The more I make, You make! Heck, in some markets I think I actually DO know the algo I hold and manage quite a few top ten terms for highly competitive industries Always keeping me on the edge of my seat!
I share your disappointment aswell when getting to number one for a keyword. Hits are about 5% of what traffic estimators say.
With just the #1's it doesn't mean you instantly get rich. It's only a small part of the puzzle. The algo is relatively well known. Over and over again we see proof that quantity of links will get you there. Knowing the algo doesn't mean you instantly get millions of links to the pages you want to be #1 for. It's like knowing how a house is built. Once you know doesn't mean you can have it done in 5 minutes. There is no secret rule in there that says: " Have x.x KW ratio, x IBLs, x OBLs and from x, y and z authority and you'll be #1 ". It still depends on a lot of variables you don't have direct control over. Not even with knowledge of the algo details.
Forget the algo, Google can stick anyone they want in #1! Look at yahoo, they show up for just about anything you search for that can sell something for themselves. Imagine the possibilities. And YES, if you have #1 positions you can get rich quick. Don't fool yourself. If you had affiliate programs in the top 100 terms for the day you would get rich!
I was about to say exactly the same thing... Even if you did know "The algo", the chances of you being able to fulfill it all are slim.
A little offtopic, One of my friend has written a better algorithm than google and he even got a chance to enter google. But in last moment there was telephonic interview and google team interviewd him at 7AM. ( he was in sleepy mood then ), otherwise I would have got the google's algo by this time. Anyway I can still ask him his algo. dunno will he give me or not.
Larry and Sergey have it hidden under a rock on the highest mountain in Mountainview. Hike up the incline and find the Google Rock, it is the largest one at the peak of the Mountain, pick it up and crawl under the rock and get it, make sure the crane does not drop the rock before you come out with the algo.
A disgruntled employee would be a prime source of information. Why haven't we heard from any? 2nd. I don't think the key is to know what site to link to/from and what keywords to use. I am talking more about basics. Like, do outbound links count more or less than thought? Do they count at all? Some say yes, most say no. What is the truth? Even though the Algo changes daily (or however often) I believe there is a core algo that doesn't change or changes very little. The silence doesn't add up. Is it possible that there really isn't anything to leak?
