I have just created a simple tips before paying into directories, I am not being harsh or killing the business, this is just my opinion http://www.allseocontest.com/tips-before-paying-on-directories.html
Good article! Thanks for this one: It reminded me something. Just renewed my directories:http://www.livelydirectory.com/ & http://www.alikedirectory.com/
@richie, maybe because of that line, directory owners will give me a red , hope not. I am not saying, they should register their domain 10 years or so, but at least a plan to renew yearly, or a text to indicate that the domain is renewed on yearly basis
Nice article.. but the 2nd point is wrong.. Most of the owners buy domain for 1 year only and keep renewing them.
good attempt. however, think u cld have elaborated or focused more on the quality aspect. How do u look for quality? By checking the number of backlinks, marketing efforts, internal Page rank, unique content, etc..... afterall, this is prob the MOST IMPORTANT point IMHO some suggestions
#3 is sometimes hard to know. Many directory owners do not specify if its yearly or one time or whatever the term they set. Related thread I made some time ago. About tips on buying links. The forus is more general though, not just link purchase on directories only.
I think most serious web directory owners and webmasters will renew their domains on a timely basis, especially if they have PR. Some people renew their domains for 2 - 3 years at once. I often renew my domains for 2 years at a stretch whenever I renew my domains.
