Hi. I just created my first blog, but I don't exactly know if i am able to put adsense codes on it? Its a wordpress free blog, and not a domain name/hosting i purchased (I have a hosting account, just need to wait till monday till i put money on my bank account since it has like 3 dollars in it from me spending so much..lol) I think i might just keep it without even getting a domain name, since its pretty easy to spell and stuff. The blog is with wordpress, so i want to know, how would i add adsense links to this? Thanks
Yeah, you'll have trouble with AdSense on that one. You should have asked for advice beforehand really if monetisation is a consideration.
meh, i guess ill just make the domain name tomorrow, and RE-set it up. Now i have to think of a cool domain name to fit www.proxyplus.wordpress.com any ideas? PM them to me if you got any proxyplus.com, net, info is taken
Ok. I just registered a domain www.proxy-plus.com which is now my blog. Does anyone know which file I need to edit (again its a wordpress blog) in order to put the adnsense in? Thanks your help is greatly appreciated.
I've had good luck just using the "write a plugin to replace text" approach. It keeps it manageable and modular so that if you're doing testing, you just need to modify the plugin code to replace all adblocks. This becomes an issue later if you're worried about clicks or impressions from your IP being reported to google. You can just comment out your adsense id and then put it back when you're done testing. Can't link yet, but if you search for how to add a plugin in wordpress you'll find that it's remarkably easy It's usually a matter of using the preg_replace() function.
yeah, thanks. Thats actually waht i did. I googled on how to add adwords to wordpress, and it was remarkablyeasy.
A good and prefered adsense plugin is adsense deluxe widely used by wordpress bloggers. Hope this helps!
Great, that is so nice of you If you are willing to play the rep game again then here is one more plugin related to adsense, I heard alot of good things about plugin. # http://wordpress-plugins.biggnuts.com/adsense-plugin/ Adsense Random injection. Avoids ad blindness.
I just recently started a WP blog as well and have found the sidebar widgets to be a very nice feature for adding content. You may also want to check out widgets for content placed out side your main post body. I am not sure if you have a theme already in mind or picked out yet? However I know that some themes are pre-widgetized and some are not. Meaning the themes not widget ready require editing to the code to make them that way. Have a lot of fun!
Hah, done and done. Ad blindness is actually something I've been concerned about as most of my posts on the blog tend to feature a graphic on the right and ads slightly below to the left - I think I've seen one but didn't have one bookmarked.
Thanks alot guys for giving me reps! I really appreciate it I love the game of reps. Let me know if you need to play anymore
Why is that??? Free wordpress accounts don't allow you to set up adsense? But you can set up adsense on a free Blogger account, right?
