Hello guys, I've just purchased the domain www.economies.us from another respectful member here. I'm not really in the domain trading industry, but I just thought it may be a good one, as it's almost one word. So what do you think, is it worth anything and what ideas do you have for it, what kind of site can it be? thanks, Mike {every cool idea gets 3 greens }
With Google's word stemming you should have an easy time ranking for "us economy" and other related terms. A mere content site with articles, commentary, etc. would likely do very well and get lots of natural, organic backlinks. Maybe you could find some different scripts to run on it to make it more "authoritative": Dollar rate (vs. other world currencies) DJIA NASDAQ etc.
Thanks Rob, I thought of adding articles etc., but you gave me here another good idea -> I'll look for some currency exchange scripts displaying rates etc.. May be I can use somehow that it's plural by talking in the site about different economies.. Besides that do you think the domain is worth anything by itself without a site?
I like wrmineo's idea, but I believe it will take up a lot of time to create such a website and keep it updated daily. You could start off by creating a front-homepage with an rss feed.. http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&ned=us&q=economies&ie=UTF-8&output=rss and http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/economy also put up a stock feed like: http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/stocks with a stock ticker from http://www.stock-market-ticker.com/ for example. Write articles about economy, finance, business and more related topics. Maby with using the new wordpress 2.0 script. Just plain and simple. And maby add a niche directory to the website with various topics related to economics.
Thanks whatiFind, good tips. Now I know what to do with it heh. What do you mean exactly by What's the easiest way to display an rss feed actually? BTW, do you know if a non-us resident can use a .us domain?
Wow, great name. Goldcoders com has an ecurrency exchange script. May be good for something like that?
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=7354 The rss feed thread by yfs1 is really great and you have also the option to use Carp , it is pretty easy to setup.. perhaps, you might also consider make it into a blog with the articles mentioned on the previous posts..
