    I just bought KinkyTalks[dot]com.

What do you think a name like that is worth?
What about as a developed site?
Where could I go with this site? What does the name shout out to you?

I was thinking of making it into a sex advice forum of some sort - but I don't know if that would be successful / what kind of forum software to use.

Jesus... $160 for a license? I don't have that kind of green to deal out on just an idea.

Are there any alternatives to vBulletin? I need something that has a large amount of users, therefore a large amounts of themes and plungins available.

    That is an idea...

I think I am going to go with SMF - and if I profit $160, I'll purchase a license. That way, I'm not risking everything.

I have to agree, I have used both PHPbb and SMF and have ended up sticking with SMF. My SMF forum is HERE, it is fairly easy to install, modify and maintain. Where it does not have all of the features of VBulletin, it is a good choice to get started.

Okay, everyone has given me advice on the site - but nobody has given me what the domain may be worth.

I have a bit of experience in buying and selling domain names. The main elements that give a domain name value above reg fee are residual traffic from inbound links and pagerank, both from prior registration. Also the likelihood of type in traffic if it is incorporating an important keyword. Generally speaking, newly registered domain names have little value above reg fee unless they are short, memorable and strike the fancy of a potential buyer. Still, without established traffic and pagerank, a new reg has nothing really tangible to measure in determining its value.

It is my opinion that kinkytalks.com has little value above reg fee if undeveloped. I wish I could tell you different but I assume that you wanted to hear the truth.
