Just bought a site that is banned can I put my adsense on it

I just bought a website that was/is banned from adsense (the previous owner of the site was recently banned from adsense).

To me the site looks fine with no copyright problems etc... Would I be able to put my adsense code on the site? or would this ban me also. If I aren't allowed to put the code on what can I do. Also can I ask google adsense to take a look at the site just to double check that the site is ok.

A quick letter to G will yield better results than gambling with your AS acocunt by putting up your AS code.

BTW, repost what happened after you work this out with G.

    later,

    tom

Use the contact us information in your AS account.

Better to come clean up front than leave things up to fate.

Good advice to contact them, but actually when the domain changes owner at whois there should be no problem. And if the domain is banned from the Google index, you should clean up the site totally and ask for a reinclusion.

I'd be interested to hear the outcome of this. I was considering buying a site that was banned a fortnight or so ago but didn't have the money for it at the time.

I've had sites 'banned' from AS from my own account. The site wasn't allowed to have any AS code on it, and G even dropped it from the index. I had to redesign the site, changed the business model too, and wrote a nice letter and BAMM! it was AS OK, and soon re-indexed.

Glad I wasn't one of the 'countless' victims of G [as read on DP], they had a reason to ban my site. Now if I never gave them a reason to ban me, then they would just do so for the fun of it [like I've read on DP many times]. So moral of this story, a clear, direct, professional letter is usually responded to in a few days, and G is very helpful to get you back on their money making train.

I emailed google the outcome is:
basically the previous owner was banned for invalid clicks. So as long as the site meets googles tos (terms and conditions) it is ok to put your adsense code on it.
