 Finally took the leap and applied for an Associates account. I am a little nervous... they said it will take about three days to approve... what can cause an account to be denied?

Edit: I just got accepted! That was fast!! :D:D Any tips for a beginner??

I agree with denovo - pick specific products and promote those - the comission is better, and conversions are usually better too.

I still use Amazon for some things - not making much off it, but the odd sale here and there is still nice.

I have been on it for a few months, still trying to figure out what works for me though.

Thanks for the responses. Since I'm new to affiliate marketing and such, I'm not really expecting to make a fortune :D, although that would be nice , but I am really aiming to find out what will work best. What do you mean by deep linking?

    My advice is this...

Get as many people as you can to visit amazon through your links. Even if they don't purchase the item you sent them to, they may want to buy something else.

Too bad Amazon doesn't have like a 30 Day cookie or something, that would be awesome :)

Yeah Amazon is good for selling additional items.

I promote just one CD on one site but I sell twice as much stuff with people adding to orders, often more CD's, books etc.

I've had some orders add the CD for $7.99 and then spend $200 on other stuff :)
