    Hey guys,

Ive dabbled with around the internet alot, whilst still maintaining a decent salaried job, I would like to make money off the internet, I've tried the online dating thing, which have worked for me but I still get royalties but it doesnt grow, it's just a constant figure, every month.

While I cant complain, I went ahead and started a hosting company in my country, you can find the url here, http://www.unihost.co.za

First of all, I would like you guys to tell me what you think of the sites design and then on ways to start promoting it?

Do I use facebook ads? Cold calling?

And then, how do I get content for this website?

    Thanks guys

    Your pricing is too expensive.
And you should quote your price at USD for international client.

Starting a hosting company is not that easy because you need a lot of marketing campaigns and that you also need to prove that your service is better than others. Anyway, I have a very good suggestion for you, why not target the local establishments in your place.

    Talk to:

    Schools
    Companies
    Organizations
    Political person

This are the ones whom you can target. Have some special time telling them about the value of having websites and that you could offer them special package for web design and hosting. :)

This may take a lot of time but it will be a good start for you :)

Ignore the international market and focus on your country and locality. Try some offline advertising (Such as classifieds in newspapers, magazines etc) and provide great and friendly service so clients may recommend you to others.

    Hey, thanks for the answers.

@mentos: comparing to pricing in South Africa, it is not expensive and probably 30% cheaper than 80% of other hosts. And I'm focussing on South Africa for now, trying to compete with huge isps in the states is just redicioulous. I would rather stick it out here and find a niche market.

@erwin: Thanks, I'll do that, I'll start with smaller companies / businesses in the community, I thinks schools will have their own servers. Political person, there is one or two I can think of, once again, local, very good idea, thanks. But then again, do you want to get associated with politicians? I'll go for it anyway.

Thanks Lightless, I will be ignoring the international market, although I wont ignore inputs and ideas from international users.

Once again, thanks guys. Ive got a client back end set up already and it's all pretty automated. And that will help I suppose.
