I think it might be neat, fun, and a good idea to make a set time for everyone to try to get on an upcomming day. It will kind of be like a live chat, but it will be in forum style ofcourse. Bring all you available domains, think of all the domains you want to buy, and we can maybe make this a big event? Please let me know what you all think... if we can set a time to all be on at the same time, maybe it will be fun. please post opinions...times dates etc. Andrew Shaw
yup, you bring the best domain you have ever registered, and someone offers you $1 for it....sounds like great fun
well i think it would be neat to see, 1. how many people we can get on the forum at one time... and 2. how quickly responses can be made to posts. either that or somehow get admins to include a live chatroom... i think its far more easier to make a sale when there are more people involved, and responses can be made fast. Just my opinion... others seem to disagree... Oh well.. Andrew Shaw
Agree. Why would someone pay alot of money for a name when they can create a name of equal value with just some simple brainstorming? 99 percent of domain names are worth $1 or less. And registering domains names isn;t free and if you have 300 domains names thats $3000 a year to renew them.
hmmm... not sure where you get your facts IamNed. 99% of domains are not worth only 1 dollar. besides, look at it this way.... a dollar is worth a dollar because there is a market for money... although it is just a piece of paper it holds value. A doman is the same way. there is a market for domains, which give more then 1% of all domains value.
You are missing the point. If you paid $9 for a domain and sell it for $1 you lost $8...which means you are in the red despite your domain 'holds value'. Yes $1 is technically value but you lost money. And if you go to sedo.com or any other marketplace you will see more than 99 percent of the domains have no bids. remember a domain is only worth what people will pay for it. Meanwhile, we all look forward to your next breathtaking idea.
IamNed you are obviously not looking in the right direction then. Sure you can register a domain name that wont sell... there are billions of possible domains you can register that wont sell! If you get a good domain, something that people will be interested in...thats where you make the money. Not by registering some bull sh*t domain in hopes it will make money. YOU are not seeing the point. sure a domain is only worth what people will pay... that doesnt make 99% of the domains worthless or valueless. Your statistic is based on your experience as a domain seller. Its obviously telling you something about your way of doing things.
