    Hello,

We just acquired a site valued at over $10,000 and is ranked #5 in Google for a high searched keyword.

The current webhost is a small-time unreliable company who suffered a DoS attack mid-acquisition.

We need to know exactly what to watch out for while moving the site in order to keep its ranking.

    Thanks for the help,

    Eder

Do you have the same url and not the content? If so, I don't think you'd face any real problems or issues.

We have full control of all pages (17,000 +), current hosting, domain... Pretty much everything.

You should do it as fast as possible there is no guranteed way to keep the ranking and if its down long enough the ranking will decrease since your in a usually unstable position such as #5 compared to top 3

I specialize a lot in web hosting, but here is my opinion:

If you are just transferring to a new web host, here are the steps:

    1. Backup your files, obviously
    2. Get new hosting account
    3. Login to hosting account using IP Address (if you use cPanel and you bought hosting from me, you can login with my server's IP Address and a ":2082" at the end of it and most web hosting resellers will tell you your IP Address)
    4. Restore your backup (if you can't do it, ask your web hosting provider, if they're good, they will do it)
    5. Change your nameservers to point to your new web host! No down-time either :)
    6. Cut of your other web host and give me some rep cuz som ppl acted lik $%&^&* :)
