One of my sites has been SERP penalized for about 4 months straight (=no google traffic whatsoever), and nothing I've done and no reinclusion requests have helped. I find it to be a very big coincidence that the day after I launch an adwords campaign for the site and the campaign is approved, the penalty is lifted? Google traffic to the site is still bad since it was returned to lousy positions (seems to slowly be improving) and since Google has spent 4 months gradually dropping almost all pages from the index it has made the site harder to find.
I think Bogart is correct - adding adsense or an adwords campaign is actually a reasonably neat trick to assist in getting a site indexed. With both options - your site gets crawled by the relevant bot - and at least anecdotally it can speed up inclusion in the index - even for a new site. Dylan
So what you are saying is that your SERPs started to slowly improve once you started your ad campaign with AdWords? To me it looks like coincidence, but i can't say much.
I keep seeing anecdotal evidence that adding an Adwords campaign to a site can get it back in Google's good graces. At first, I thought it was coincidence, but now I'm not so sure. I'd like to research it a bit more. Do you mind PMing me the URL? I'd like to find some other examples and write about it on my blog.
After 4 months it instantly went from no SERP at all (positions burried 100 pages pack) to some SERP and slowly improving once I started a campaign. Sure FastWeb, sending a PM. I've seen similar things mentioned before too.
