Just A Bit Of Advise Really...

    Hi all!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend.

Right, so I've decided to test my expertise on a subject with a lot of competition. I never seem to have much luck with design, but here's what I decided.

Simple, clean design with a nice sized navigation and wide content area. Nice big header, same for the footer as these are going to be my main/only advertising space.

A bar under the navigation, telling the user where they are also linking back to the previous page.

I'm not going to stuff the page with ads, maybe one in the header and then spaced in and around the content.

I would just like a bit of advise on where to go from here.

    Thanks!

    Scott

Cheers guys, I really appreciate your views/oppinions on this website.

I will be adding content shortley I'm just working on a few scripts at the minute... keyword checker, whois checker, stats checker etc. Anyway it's not the content I'm worried about, it's the design.

I know i'm appealing to the more "professional" of the website industry that is what has made me take a step back and think woooah... I know it doesn't have to be 100% spot on, and that it's about the quality of my content rather than design but hey!

    Thanks :)

    Scott.

OK heres what I would do...

First things first. The blue and red is ugly sorry but I don't like it at all. Maybe go for a nice blue and silver. There are many color combination websites out there. Go to colorcombos.com for some nice color schemes.

Try setting your table width to between 70 - 80%. It's too wide at the moment.

Remove the table top row where it says 'you are here:...' Its unnecessary. The user can tell where they are because then header of the content cell tells them.

Center you navigation list, but not the text. Remove the background color (blue) from the list change it to white.

Try a different font. Maybe Arial or Veranda they read much better than new roman.

Change the color of your favicon to match the color scheme of you website.

Decrease the font size for the copy right symbol etc... It stands out too much.

Let us know if you make any changes and will return and have another look. Keep it up your off to a good start :)
