Jumping ship from godaddy, need advice

My site being hosted there is slow ( http://elijah.pinoguin.com ), response time from slowdaddy takes too long. Surprisingly I noticed plain html files loads faster ( http://pinoguin.com , just plain welcome page). So I wonder if there are other ways of optimizing my settings? (probably for php.ini?)

If none could help me out here optimizing things (I've done my part, I've run out of ideas :( ) maybe you help me out on looking for a better host? I'm eye-ing site5 at the moment, maybe dreamhost.

This is for a typo3 site (I may need imagemagick, gd, .htaccess, mod_rewrite). :)

I'm on a budget and I'll only be running small sites anyway so a shared will do.

site5 is good and they happen to have an awesome $5/month deal going on right now, but you have to sign up for 2 years.

dreamhost was getting a lot of good press for a while but lately I heard some of their customers complaining that the servers turned slow and customer service gotten worse. Maybe they can't handle their growth very well.

    I would avoid site5.
I'm on wht quite alot and lately there haven't been the best things said about them by their users.

    HostGator is kind of pricey.

    Haven't tryed Dreamhost..

yeah avoid site5 at all costs...

HG pricey ? you get what you pay for... their shared plans are great for medium traffic sites.

I was going to start my own thread on this topic...

Well heck, for the price I signed up for a hostgator account. I'm planning to develop a series of sites (plenty of domains) and then if necessary I can always spin them off to their own accounts when they get enough traffic or income to warrant it.

GoDaddy is known for slowness with dynamic sites. I have a site there and it runs fine, but 99% of my site is static. Anyhoo, good luck finding a new host.

Thanks for more input, I've decided to skip site5 and choose either hostgator or dreamhost... but most probably hostgator :)

Whoever you go with, be sure to make some research on them specially concerning client feedback about the service provided
