July through September the slowest times for traffic?

Across all 15 of my sites im noticing a decline in traffic as we get deeper into the summer, the lowest for me this year is now as we are approaching the end of July. Last year I didn't have as many established sites as I did through the summer like I do now so its hard for me to compare, but I noticed in september seeing a drop in traffic, and then it rose continually till about april / may.

My question is, is July through September usually when traffic drops to the lowest? Seems like about september is when it reaches the lowest.

I'm not 100% positive, but it does make sense. Many businesses lose money during those months because people are traveling and spending time with family, not in stores or online.

Also expect this for Christmas season if your websites do not 'sell' anything at a cheap Christmas-sized price!

I heard July is the biggest vacation month. Thats what someone said when they were discussing how things were slowing down at Payperpost. I noticed payperpost opportunities started dropping in the summer too and are at the lowest point this July. And I noticed that my traffic has been dipping too. Seems like from July to september things really drawn down compared to winter and spring.

Is it an established site? I only want to discuss sites that are more than 6 months, preferably about a year or older, so you cant attribute it to random traffic fluctuations.

It all really depends on your market. I have a software website that has just hit the higgest level unique hits this year this month, I guess due to people having more time to develop the projects that planned over the past months. Other more informative sites, probably suffer as people are kicking back and not in the learning frame of mind. Just speculation, but it's not the same across the board!

Boy for a website for webmasters there sure is a usual lack of responses. Sometimes I wonder if anyone actually even has a website business at this forum.

I find the month of july and summer in general a good time to do upgrades and develop websites, because of the low traffic you can get away with messing up and have less time frame heavy projects. Also, I don't study during this time so I get alot of time to do all the stuff I wanted without all college hassle xD

I do the upgrading and developing year around. I like to get it out the way because if I have an exciting new idea for my site I can't wait to try it out.

I sell gifts online and i had a site for 4 years. I noticed there was a decrease in ppc clicks and orders since the middle of July. I thought also the recession had something to do with it. I hope it's due to seasonal drop. Usually June is my slowest month but July has been dragging so far. I hope things will pick up in August and Sept...otherwise I'll have to lay some people off at work.

In Biz, the first two weeks of summer are death. This is a business fact because kids are out of school and families go away. hot weather produces a certain amount of slow business, which I accept as a part of my year.
So, what you do , is clean up, shape up, lay down foundations , optimize , sell, link up, anything to get new sales, now is the time to do it.
When it pickes up in September,DON'T WORRY!!!! SOMETHING WILL RESULT!!!!!!

dont worry about it, just lay as much foundation while you have the time, then something will take root and you will be swimming in orders.

Well it depends on what kind of site you have I supose. Proxies never do well in the summer months. Where as my forum is doing fairly well.

    wrong!!!!!!!
now is the time that you will need to optimize and keyword and network and everything.
I have many sites and it usually is three months before i get a reservation, just keep networking!!!!!!!!
