I finally reached 1 million page views on my forum during July for the first time ever. The problem is my CTR rate dropped 30% from June to July, and my July earnings are the worst in 2 years. My Earnings are now 50% of what they were in 2007 I already know the challenges with forums, so no need to tell me they suck But I have no idea why the 30% drop in CTR for July. Anyone else have a big CTR drop in July? Could it be just a drop in ad inventory?
I also think that google adsense has become smart priced. they are paying very low as compared before
CTR is reduced but impression increased.. - is your organic traffic improved? - is it only increase in impression or there is an increase in visitors as well? - did you adjust with color or placement of your ads?
may be you have tons of returning visitors on your forum, and I have always have a feeling that returning visitors come to find specific info on your website, not to explore more sites (ads)
Adsense are dying slowly like chitika. They dropped price and then died. Not totaly but they haven't clients anymore (i'm talking about chitika).
Same here. Adsense dropped 50% and hardly worth using anymore. Guess I have to thank for all the MFA sites available out there.
google has been going downhill for years now. my cpm went from 3.50 to .49 over the past two years. its ridiculous. i suggest you move on to something else like kontera.
