Hey guys and gals, I think that I am pretty much finished with my site. If you could take a gander and give me feedback it would be much appreciated. The site focuses on providing an interactive community based approach to file storage. Originally, the idea was just to allow the storage of photos, but upon completion I decided that this would greatly limit my market. Anyway, being that it was photo centric to begin with, it has a slideshow and gallery feature. I am also thinking about building a Web-based image editor. The site: www.juicewire.net Regards, Jordan
Hello =) You have a very nicely designed website that screams "this person has designed this with my eyes in mind, and therefore I should use it!". Everything appears to be thought and laid out very nicely! The following point makes almost no difference to anyone but since you do have the xhtml link at the bottom of your page, you may be interested in knowing that currently your site is not xhtml valid (12 points of failure) and if this link is clicked from inside your pages, there is an error message since physically we are at an https address (the proper link to always work would be http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http://juicewire.net ) Again -- Very impressive site you have! =)
Hi, Just one humble opinion. Make the background of the page little bit lighter that will help the main table of your site look more prominent. Thanks
Hey, thanks for all your comments and suggestions! I will get to work on the xhtml compliance, and I will see how a lighter background will look.
This may seem like a stupid suggestion, but I would put something that explains, in one of two words, what your site does... I know it's in your title, and other parts of the page talk about "store any filetype" and "storage quotas", but you might want to put something like "file storage" directly under your top left logo... just my opinion...
This looks damn good, like blogspot or something. The service offered is also unbelievable 2GB!? Is this for real or just another school project? I'm going to signup to use as my backup if it real.
First - congratulations! You are one of the first sites I saw here which were actually almost perfect! I especially like the secure part; that's something unique! Also the user chat etc, is something I don't see on other file hosting sites. Absolutely nice. The uptime monitor at the bottom, is it the uptime of your site, or of your host? 99.15% sometimes gives a bad impression, if you see everywhere 99.99% etc lol When I move over the green "FREE v2" balloon, my cursor changes, which gives me the impression that I can move it around (would be funny lol), however it can't be moved around. Maybe remove that cursor? Or add a movearound feature? When I go to the news page, the background color of the content part changes in white. Why don't you keep it within the same blue? I see on the other buttons (public upload etc.) that's also the case, but the white parts aren't that big over there I see you've worked thoroughtly on the design (lol (c) 2003-2007), and the result may be there. One of the best designs I saw so far. Lovely!
Actually, lol, it use to move around, but I just removed that feature because it was reaking havoc with some other features of the site. Thanks for all the comments again. I've been out of town scuba diving for lobsters in the keys! Now I can get back to work on correcting these issues. I'm glad you guys liked the site, and I love the detailed suggestions. The sites a work in progress, but I feel it is fairly stable for now. Regards, Jordan Humphreys
oh ok..i was just wondering..coz usually file sharing sites dont bother whether you are at a Caltech or MIT lol
THATS A SEXY SITE! Sorry, I didn't know how else to put it. DONT CHANGE A THING! Definitely going to register and trial things out [such as speeds and stuff]
