Judging/Analyzing Competiton

I have been researching a CB product now for the past 2 days. There are a couple of reasons why I like it and want to promote it:

    1. It is something I am familiar with and have knowledge about.
    2. It has about a 140 CB gravity.
    3. There definitely seems to be a market for it.

As I research it more and more, I am finding that there are quite a few more people out there that are advertising and promoting it.

I plan to write articles, use low competition keywords with at least 1,000 month searches, squidoo, hubpages and some other techniques.

    My questions:

    1. How do I go about making the determination that it may not be worth putting the time and effort into promoting a product...due to the competition that is already out there.

    2. What are some areas I can think about as far as giving me the edge on others to help drive traffic?

I have read quite a few other DP users say not to worry about the competition. If you find something you like and are familiar with to just go for it.

    Thanks,

    ~E

Do not worry too much about competition. There is usually room for everyone to make money. I'd say go for it.
If you have the proper marketing strategy, you'll have no problem generating traffic and sales. If there's competition it means that it's profitable.

Since this is probably a bigger niche, there are probably tons of keywords and a lot of long-tail ones with little competition and decent traffic. You could try ranking for those.
