1500 people, including a group of Anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews, in New York City marched from Rockefeller Center to the Israeli Consulate on 2nd Avenue to protest the Israeli government's bombings in Gaza.

Give me a topic and I'll find people who are against it. This has no point.

    Islam condemns Hamas

I saw on the news that a Muslim man said he was against Hamas. See, that makes as much sense as your title.

Good for those Jews and anyone who wants to express their opinion on this issue. You point to a couple Jews being against Israel as though it means something - it simple means that different people are entitled to have different opinions. It is like that with most topics and most people. It is something to be embraced.

It is a shame that one simply don't see a similar diversity of opinion in the Muslim world. I don't think it is because they all feel the same way, no groups do, but I think it is because so many Muslims live in fear of speaking freely. It is one of the most valued freedoms man can have.

I don't understand why the supporters of Israeli policy are so eager to dismiss the evidence that it is corrupt.

These are not just any Jews. These are Hasidic Jews. They are the most Orthodox Jews on the planet.

When I first heard about Hasidim from my Rabbi Gold in Hebrew School, I asked if he was one. He shook his head and said, "no, I wish I were." I never found out what was holding him back, but apparently it was too strict for him.

If you read The Chosen, by Chaim Potok, this division in Judaism is made clear...it goes to the very formation of Israel.

The religious objection to the formation of Israel is no trivial matter. Israel is founded on the premise that Israel belongs to the Jews. This 2,000 year-old divine land claim is shaky enough in light of the many other people who have ruled and lived there in the meantime.

But these Orthodox Jews, who live and breathe Torah, care about nothing so much as Jews and Judaism. So why do they protest the very state of Israel?

I object on different grounds, but this movement demonstrates that it is possible to oppose Zionism without hating Jews or Judaism. Israel hides behind the human shield of anti-semitism. It has nothing to do with anti-semitism. These are real Jews. Many of the Zionists are atheists, just ask them.

I don't agree with the theology of these Rabbis, but I respect it. They have literally no other reason to stand forward except a sincere view that Judaism and Zionism are incompatible.

BT, maybe its time to take these objections to Israeli policy more seriously. We're not just dreaming this stuff up. We're not just jew-haters or Hamas-lovers.

Some of us are passionate about the suffering in Gaza because we've been afraid of this for a very long time. Some of us feel a duty to speak out.

No body could have said this better. I was raised in morocco by a Jewish family, all my life, I did not know nothing else but love and passion for each other, when Muslims do wrong I feel bad and when Jewish people do wrong I feel bad, that's when I learnt that life is not about choosing between good and bad, but about choosing about bad and worse.
When i moved to the Us many years Ago. I never lost contact with my Jewish family and did not lose contact with my Muslim friends. I only lost part of my Moroccan identity but through the years I learnt one more thing, the American Media succeeded in putting in our heads what they want us to believe, they make us think that every one wearing a rug on his head is a terrorist.
Should we think the same of Jesus and his family they all wore rugs on their head, or should we Applaud this people that no matter what kept the tradition going by staying faithful to their ancestors costumes.
This is just my opinion of course. I could be wrong.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. :)

All i can say is that we need more compassion, empathy and understanding from all people in this world, just as the last 2 posters have talked about before me.
What an awesome world it would then be :)

It shows that not all Jews are terrorists.

Just like all muslims are not terrorists.
