Hello all Dp'ers Journal: Goal to Double my income by November 2010 from $7000 per month to $14,000 I've been involved in affiliate marketing for about 5 years now in some capacity or another. I started with adsense and then some smaller affiliate sites with SiteBuildit, moving onto a network of adsense sites until I finally started to settle into creating a network of purely affiliate based content sites that relied on SEO for their traffic. I've done well over the last 1.5 years finally being able to leave my day job behind, but I want to take things to the next level now and double my income over the next 6 months. I've created this thread to create some transparency about what I'm doing on a day-to-day basis so I have some accountability. One of the tough things about being involved in affiliate marketing is that we're often all on our own and we don't have a heck of a lot of people to answer to. If left to our own devices more of us will fail the succeed, so I want to short circuit that system here by creating this journal and chronically my activities, failures and successes. I hope that by doing this I can: a.) Help some other affiliate marketers along the way become successful, or at the very least inspire some people to know that affiliate success is possible. b.) Create some accountability for myself as I start this journey over the next 6 months. PLAN: My plan is to post here every business day M-F. I will post each Monday with my expectations for that week and then follow up on that through the week as I go. I'll provide results for things that I test out (work or doesn't work) and I'll also try to answer questions people may have. How ever I will leave question & answer time to only one day a week as to not get too bogged down in the posting. I want to spend 15-20 minutes a day updating this thread each morning so it doesn't interfere with my actual work, then once a week I'll go through, find questions people might have and try my best to answer them. So this is Post #1, technically my 6 months starts on tomorrow on Saturday May 1st. So I'll lay out a bit of the ground work in a second post. Thanks to all those who plan to follow along, if you've got something negative to say... Maybe it's best to just not say it as negativity doesn't really help any of us out here on the forum. Here is the basic outline of the goal. I'm going to be working on only 4 markets for this goal. They are 4 markets that I already have websites built in so I'll be improving the sites I already have. I'll be doing this via SEO and conversion improvement. The goal of $14,000 for the month of November broken down is: An average of 12 sales per day & each sale having an average of $40 commission per sale. This over a 30 day month will yield me at my $14,000 total. This breaks down to an average of 3 sales per day being generated from each site. Currently I'm around 4 sales total from the 4 sites (although one site is brand new). I'm going to be doing a mixture of: -PPC testing -SEO & link building -Content creation & split testing to improve conversion I won't be sharing my URL's or markets for obvious reasons but I will be sharing what works and what doesn't in my testing so that you guys can put it to work for yourselves.
