what do you all think of this domain i just boought? joshx.com i bought it because i hate using my last name anywhere, and x kinda makes it so that i dont have to use it. I randomly tried this domain last night to see if it was a available and it was, which shocked me. I actually got pretty lucky because it just got deleted on may 25th 07, i believe. and it was registered for years before that. Almost all the good .com domains with x after the name are taken. Such as Chrisx.com tomx.com jasonx.com etc. Do you all think this domain is worth anything? also i plan on using it for my person photos, music etc.
if its for personal use then i do not think that any one can value it. i would say it is priceless on a more serious note, it is only useful for those whose name is "josh" and who like "x" at the end (very slim chances of that). i would say reg-fee only
The fact that you picked up a dropped name for reg fee should give you a good idea. No one was willing to pay the $16.95 (or whatever the price is) to pick it up when it expired. I'd say tops on it would be low xxx and only then if you find the right person. Otherwise I'd say it's worth exactly what you paid for it.
the value of a domain isnt based on what people use it for. It's what people would pay for it and so far i've already recieved offers more then reg fee on this name. thanks though Alot of good domains drop witout people knowing. The other day i regged uxme.com that recently dropped and I didnt have any problem with selling it for alot more then i or anyone else could have regged it for. Im sure that I would have gotten an even higher number if i was willing to wait longer. So thats just an example of good domains dropping without people knowing. The reason I'm replying to this thread and to your "appraisals" or whatever is because you guys seem to appraise everything but the domain itself. If i were to go out and somehow buy internet.com or microsoft.com it would still be worth alot no matter what i used it for, even if it was for a personal site.
