East Timor's president was admitted to an Australian hospital Monday in critical condition after rebels shot and wounded him during what officials called a failed coup attempt.

Jose Ramos Horta was taken in an induced coma to the northern Australian city of Darwin after being shot during the attack on his home in Dili, East Timor's capital.

This is really bad news lets hope he pulls through

He's out of danger now, for what i could see at TV.
The leader of the attack got killed.
Xanana Gusmao, prime minister escaped without injuries.

Lets see if he can prevent a rebellion. :/

East Timor had a very hard road to independence, hope that they will preserve and treasure what they had fought so hard for.
