Joomla : What do you usually put on the top module

I just recently converted to Joomla after years of Blogger.

i'm using the commom rhuk solarflare.
now the top module is left empty because i dont know what to put there.
    what component/module usually goes there?
My site is about a collection of my original stories (in Bahasa melayu)

I know this question sounded silly. My english is poor.

is there any blog component for Joomla so it would look like Blogger so i dont have to post to frontpage on every item?

    Thanks in advanced.

Mat, ko cari template lain lah, banyak lagi kat dalam internet tu, buat apa nak pakai default punya tu.

Translation : Go get another template on the net, there's bunch of them out there where you can figure out what to fill up that empty space.

You can disable the top module in your backend administrator menu. It shouold be enough to place links in your main menu and/or other menu IMO

Don't even think of using that template! Find a new one!

Using default CMS templates makes your website look very unprofessional.

It's very easy to customize templates - and I think that's the most professional (after creating a template from scratch). We are using the default template at http://www.maosen.co.cc/info where we have edited some pictures and CSS. It's not that bad:):)
