I am new to CMS thing. What would you recommend me as best CMS? So far i think Joomla is very popular. Could you please post some website urls (or your) where Joomla is used. I want to see how it actually looks like and what are its benefits.
I'm looking into the same thing. There was a review of Joomla in the March 2006 issue of php architect which ranked the product as 4 out of 5, mostly dinging it for lack of docs. Also said the templates required skill and to find ones for Joomla or it's predecessor, Mambo rather then spending the time learning template coding. I'm also going to look at Web Edition CMS, which is another php based solution but isn't free, starts at $249 USD per site, and offers free support. The support alone might be worth the price if you can afford the product. I also messed with another php solution Typo3 a couple years ago, and it worked well. I think it was a rather powerful CMS which required a serious learning curve to change templates, look, and feel. If you stuck with layouts provided, or found some, you could avoid that learning timeshift. Matt

I remembered posting to a Joomla powered web directory yesterday wwws.org. Might ask wwws his thoughts ... The announcement of the directory is in this thread. Matt
