I'm woundering what to choose between joomla and wordpress.

I love joomla because of all it's free extensions and modules but does Joomla have the same ping system as wordpress does ??

I don't know about the ping system, but wordpress has thousands of free extensions and modules too, I'd pick wordpress any day.

Wordpress is much more userfriendly than Joomla and has thousands of free and paid extensions. I would also choose wordpress over Joomla.

joomla is best for many solutions while wordpress cannot be use in any field thats why we webmasters call joomla the largest content management sytem.

I've used both Joomla and WordPress, I used to love Joomla and dabbling in it's easy to modify code, but I haven't looked back since I switched to WordPress.

I strongly disagree with shades. There are many extensions for WordPress that allow it to function as a CMS a la Joomla/Drupal.

I used both for the past year and WordPress is the easiest to modify and maintain.

I have switched my one site that was powered by Joomla to WordPress and couldn't be happier. Still have one on Drupal but it's just a question of time before that one goes entirely to WordPress too. I hate complicated back end that both Joomla and Drupal have. For me it’s WP all the way, I just wish they weren’t such obnoxious firefox fanboys all of them.

Wordpress is the way to go. If you need examples, just go to any big companies blog and you'll see it's a modded version of Wordpress 90% of the time.

I been using Joomla and Wordpress for some time. Found that Wordpress is easy to handle compare to Joomla, but I like Wordpress more because of its plugins which is more favourable to marketing value.

Anyway, Joomla is as good as wordpress as well, because of its module and components are easily found in internet, in fact, there are alot of them ... I have been collecting them for many months.. still collecting.. can never finish... that's like about Joomla...

    :)

I think Wordpress has a shorter learning curve than Joomla, so for a site that you want done ASAP, Wordpress is probably the way to go.

joomla is very hard to optimize its permalinks has lot of bugs. and it is back office is slow and complicated to manage if you have less than 100pages you should use wordpress

I've developed sites for both - it really depends on your needs. Wordpress is incredible for content sites and Joomla is better at creating communities or membership sites.

I use wordpress often. joomla, I know that is great application too. I try to make a website on my local computer. I find it is not easy to customize my design and template and a bit of heavy weight. I mean it is not as light as wordpress.

I prefer wordpress aswell. It's really easy to use, loads of good plugins and can come up with some good sites. Never tried joomla but I might have to see what the difference is.
