Joomla Versions

On the Joomla website it shows versions 1.0.15 and 1.5.1.

Which is better? More reliable? More widely used?

Also why do they refer to both but dont explain the differences?

1.0.15 is more widely used as 1.5.1. has just been released...... look at it as an upgrade/improvement..

 

So would you recommend for a new site to start by using 1.5.1 or 1.0.15?

 

General rule is always to upgrade in anything you do so I'd go the latest, but it all depends on your circumstances.

Having said that, I just did a site for a client (sporting club) so latest wasn't needed as they wanted an older template used. 1.5 has fewer templates out currently..

1.0.15 was released b/c of a security vulnerability in 1.0.14, but is now stable. 1.5 isn't..

now we use 1.0.15 for developments, its better to use the most latest version.
