Hmm I'm not sure. but I'm curious, why do you want to convert? Joomla can do the same things. Just need to make a few seo tweaks

I like wordpress, all of my other sites are made in WP so I would like to keep them the same and I can use a similar theme but edited as my other sites which have good CTR etc etc.

You just cant change a Joomla website to Wordpress. If you need to change it,then you have to copy the data of it and then feed it into Wordpress. If you need any more help, then let me know.

Is there not a plugin that can convert joomla's database, I will have a search around because I was told there is something out there to make it easier.

Just thought someone may know the best plan of action if they have done it in the past.

You might want to hire a database programmer to do it, it could be a tough task. Great choice by the way :)

I think its better to use joomla, if you still need to convert in wordpress just hire some one else to database miagration.

    Thanks.

Why would you do that? Even Joomla has modules to make it look like a blog :)

I don't want it to look like a blog, each of my sites look like sites :)

I just want to keep everything in wordpress so making changes is easy and I prefer the plug-ins that are available.

Is there such thing as a quick migration from the two?

I've found some software that will transfer the content so that isn't an issue.

One question I have though is what would I do about the current indexed pages in the search engines? If I change them to wordpress then the urls will be different and may be classed as new pages to Google, etc.

Has anyone actually moved from joomla to wordpress in the past? If so, can you get in touch so I can ask a few questions.

You would have to 301-redirect each individual page..or just save time and redirect old folders and all of their contents to new folders. Or, just redirect the whole site to the home page.

Yes use the 301 redirect to help get round SEO issues. Did your Joomla site have SEO friendly URL's? If so, it may be possible to setup new site with same URLs. Sure a freelancer could do that pretty cheaply or someone here could advise. If you didn't have search friendly URL's then keeping same ones would be harder.

Or try to redirect pages/websites using your hosting's control panel.
