Joomla scope and help

    Hii I m new to this community.Can anyone tell me what actually joomla is?? And how it may help me to make a Community Site.I have a better knowledge in PHP+MYSql or other programming languages like java,C#(Asp.net).

    I really need to help for you guys:)

    Joomla is content management system. Really great, lot of free plugins and temples are available.

    Joomla! is a CMS - it is better for portals...For community sites you need to find some plugins or rewrite some code...My opinion that code writing for joomla! is more sophisticated then for other cms`s....
