I am looking to start a new business community website within the industry I work in. Eventually I see this site as being a central hub to the industry with business listings, product reviews, forums, industy specific Wikipedia etc. The revenue generation will come from advertising and company subscriptions. To start the site off I want to collate and display RSS feeds from different sites on the home page broken down into categories. I am not looking to create an auto content site, but a place where all information is collated, I will be putting my own content on the site also. What would be the best way of collating this? and is it possible? I propose to use this Joomla template to start me off.
I'm using mostly WordPress now but do run some Joomla sites. Take a look at Barrie Norths Templates at JoomlaShack. And take a look at this extension for pulling RSS Feeds. http://extensions.joomla.org/extens...omlaExtensions+(Joomla!+Extensions+Directory) The hardest part about pulling feeds is finding full feeds to pull that are not truncated and are publicly available.
Thanks. I now have one of his templates and that extension so I shall set to work figuring it out. Ta!
