headings are usually changed in the css file of your joomla installation.

In the back-end go to template manager click on the active template and at the top you will see at the top options to edit html and CSS. In the CSS file the moduletable ID(s) is what you are looking for.

BTW if you are not familiar with CSS you will have a tough time. Better to pay someone to do modifications for you than to spend hours if not day doing simple "routine" stuff. It is money well spent if you value your time.

firebug for firefox is also a great tool

The other question is found in your module manager in the breadcrumbs module.

    If you're using Joomla 1.0.x, then ( << Start < Prev 1 2 Next > End >> ) is handled by Pagination Results.

Go to Menu, select the menu that has your Frontpage Component, i.e. mainmenu, then click on the Home entry, on the Parameters side, select Hide option for Pagination Results.

    Hope this helps.

same deal for Joomla 1.5, just click into the Parameters(Advanced) section to hide Pagination Results
