Joomla Question

When I try to write a new article or edit an existing one, the editor does not give me any option of text formatting (bold, italic......).

I had TinyMCE as the default editor, and now I have changed it to JCE, but it is still the same.

    Any ideas?

When you change the default text editor in the backend, that does not overwrite any special user preferences meaning that if a user has selected TinyMCE then it will continue to act as his active text editor even if you replace it in the global configurations. Could be your case so you go ahead and check the settings for the username you are logging in with.

Its not that, I am the administrator and the only user. Its a blog of sorts. I changed the editor and the preference in the global config, still it doesn't give me any text editor.

I thought the change was not taking effect over the current editor in use... In this case, check the template to see if it calls the front end text editor properly.

You mean the admin template or the main template. I haven't changed the admin template.

sorry i misled on reply before.
have you check on mambot that your JCE is published ?
is it appear at Default WYSIWYG Edito on Global Configuration setting ? [and check whenever configuration is writable]
open User Manager menu, and check your administrator user setting. you may select your editor there either.
