I think WP is very easy to modify and it has free plugins. Through WP u can create websites that does not look like blog, photogallery, etc.
However. Joomla has definite nice features that can be more useful in business or company websites such as those little boxes that provide preview on what's inside the site.
So I think its depend on clients requirements, that what kind of site he is looking for if simple site then wordpress and if company or big site then I think joomla is the right option.

WP is easy to use. But we prefer to use Joomla for future projects because it is very powerful CMS and lot of help topics available on almost everything you require.

It is a matter of preference.

Only when you've fully utilised both frameworks can you comment on whether one is better than the other.

Both have strengths and primarily designed for different things.

Still a big Joomla user. Wp is nice and light. But if you are looking to set up a seriously big website (not blog). Then i would go with Joomla.

There's loads of great plug ins and components to choose from.

At first look for new Joomla users, It wont appear as a CMS, it will appear as some thing other which we could not guess...But it will be fine after some days of use..

But WP is amazing and easy to install and it helps us easily post blogs....SO Wordpress is better.

it's really hard to say because if your on CMS it's better to use Joomla for corporate projects and wordpress for blogging purposes.

but you can still adapt wordpress into a CMS like Joomla..

it will just be depending on your way of using them

it is depends with your human ability, if you looking for simple way then better to use WP. but if you looking for a very dynamic site with tons of complicated things then better use joomla, of course it will be such adorable site. have a good day there.

Wordpress is much easier to use and learn than Joomla. WP is particularly great for those who are new to CMS , plus it also gives ideas if you are a creative person.

That's not true. Take a look at http://www.is4profit.com - they use Joomla and usually run ads from big agencies and blue chip companies. They can display ads by channel and even drill down to article-level sponsorship/ad display, so saying WP is better than Joomla for monetising a site is not correct :)

I'm a Wordpress fan. Tried Joomla in the earlier days, but found I could get a new WP site going within minutes, a Joomla site took much longer.

I agree and I'm a fan of WP for quick blog setup but a fan of Joomla for bigger more powerful websites and portals.

So saying WP is quicker to deploy than Joomla can be true but it depends on exactly what you're doing with and expecting of WP and Joomla; Whilst technically you get a site up and running a few minutes quicker on WP (especially as a beginner) it's a blog tool straight out of the box and WP's simplicity is certainly a real bonus.

However, using Joomla it can take much longer to set up and learn but by being more complex you'll be able to build a much more complex and powerful website.

For corporate or business-looking websites, Joomla has been my choice of open source application. I feel that it is not appropriate to compare Joomla with Wordpress since the latter is geared more for blogging. Though Wordpress can also be used for a seemingly static business website, Joomla offers a more flexible way of presenting simple webpages that don't require much tinkering of the default php code.
