Joomla will be better than wordpress for ecommerce, with virtuemart or other extensions for ecommerce, joomla will be flexible. Prestashop is excellent choice, its one complete ecommerce suite.
Magento has acquired much of ecommerce website market all over. Magento & joomla are the options to be considered for ecommerce websites.
I read around and these are the suggestions: Magento if you want to build something big and complex, Opencart for something simple. These seem to be doing something fine as they are becoming very popular (Magento is most used and still growing and Opencart went up 50% this year) as per this study: http://tomrobertshaw.net/2012/11/october-2012-ecommerce-survey/
wordpress is best for alot of things....but joomla wins on the eCommerce environment personally though i'd prefer prestaShop or magento
Really Joomla is good for E-commerce site because Joomla is having much more plugins as compare to WordPress. Through Joomla you can make your site more attractive and comfortable for users.
Neither Joomla or Wordpress !! if you are going to make an e-commerce site then you should go for magento.
Hi, Joomla is q better choice for e-commerce ! Wordpress is more a blog platform even if it has the e-commerce add-on. Joomla is more flexible, you can test several solutions (prestashop, virtumart, etc.) and there is a lot a plugins to interface your e-commerce solution with other componenents : mailing list, ads, community, etc.
For e-commerce the best is Magento but if i need to chose between joomla and wordpress i will say joomla.
I prefer Joomla than wordpress for developing websites. With joomla you can develop any kind of website. Joomla caters the end users, designers and developers alike. It is very flexible, customizable. More than that it got plenty of extensions and templates.
