    Ok so at the moment I have Joomla! as my homepage where news it posted etc.

    But I was thinking about having the MyBB Portal (http://njunkies.ulmb.com/forum/portal.php) as the homepage instead so all news posted would automatically get posted on the portal.

    What would you guys have, Joomla! or the MyBB portal?

    Have you look at iJoomla, thats a great news extension for Joomla!
    also you can easily import RSS feeds into Joomla with extensions like feedgator

    Theres are tons of extensions you can add to Joomla to make your site look good check out http://extensions.joomla.org/
