Joomla or my Host does not like Webmaster Tools.

    I am having problem after problem installing webmaster tools on my joomla site.

    Method 1
    http://www.ictinsite.com/googlef344e81d071f4d58.html
    PHP:
    When I come to "verify" I get a message saying cannot validate dues to "404" error.. Wierd.:confused:


    Method 2
    When I add the meta tag it says I need to remove the following meta tag before it verifys..
    <head><meta name="verify-v1" content="piT1PgnGgnAcerchOUMG52UNGGy/X+OXCq4/X64WNJU=" >
    PHP:
    I have it installed on another Joomla site but for some weird reason its not playing ball on this occasion ..

    any suggestions..?

    Please can someone shed a light on what I need to do to rectify the problem and if someone can point me in the direction of a guide or something that would be great.

    i have joomla v1.5 on four sites i have uploaded to webmaster tools. i used the html file method and it worked for me on hostgator.

    I've had issues with Google validating before and sometimes it's on their end. I'd keep the html file up there and try again tomorrow and see if it works.
