I have desgined a template that i am looking to have CMS built into it. Joomla, Drupal are some of the best CMS softwares out there from what i been reading. here are some of the features i am looking forward to have in the CMS using the admin panel :- 1. Add ads in different parts of the website 2. Add text, images, blogs, videos to certain area of the website 3. Integrated forums in the CMS.. The forums i use is Vbulletin 4. add events to the site Calendar 5. Create similar templates having same theme of the website but different colors and images. I am realy looking for someone that is knowladgable to help me choose which way to go. And maybe if you are intrested we can cut a deal for someone to help me get it build. Thanks.
I've been using Joomla for my sites. Didn't have much luck with Drupal... but that was only my first try.... Not to sure if it has a bridge for Vbulletin... but I'm using SimpleMachineForums with one of my sites...and its great! Lhlalyam
Joomla can help you out with the things you are needing, however I have no experience with using vBulletin with a Joomla site. If you are designing one template with different themes and colors, you need simply change the CSS file to accommodate that. Or, you can build multiple colors into one CSS and use the module suffix commands for the end user to change the colors on the template.
WOW! Wordpress allows you to add portal and forums like vB!! I didn't know that... Could you just show me some example site which runs wordpress and has vB or some other forums? Thank you.
Id go with Joomla but havent invested enough time in drupal... http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101761 is a bridge for vb and joomla... I think its easier to bring an html template to Joomla rather than bring it to WordPress.. With wordpress you have different layouts for index.php and single.php ( single article..) I might be wrong . but from what Ive seen the templates for Joomla and Wordpress do not resemble each other.. Ive converted 100's of free css templates to joomla templates over time and very easy.. Of course you can get bogged down in php module handling etc.... But you can get a proof of concept in no time. If you want me to show you using your html template pop me a PM...
