    hm...
this is really difficult question to answer for anyone. :)

Both of them are best, It all really depends upon your particular needs.
If you are going to look for very simple site and more use friendly then even you can try silverstrip.

Between Joomla & Drupal, Joomla has more extensions.

Drupal is very easy to manage (sites, modules, views, and other components ). If you are comfortable with wordpress plugins, you can similarly use drupal modules to improvise on your site features (like news, feeds, forums, blog, drigg (social bookmarking), articles, and 100's of modules which is been developed by the open source community. And with the coming of Drupal 7, sky is the limit for creative use of drupal for any kind of site development.
I have extensive research into drupal modules and its real-life applications to develop advanced websites and can help any companies to identify the right resource to develop customized drupal development using dedicated resources from India.

    ping me for more details

I personally prefer Drupal. It is much simpler than Joomla and most good websites i see are powered by Drupal.

    Go with Drupal.

A lot of the scripts in the Joomla downloads section have known security holes. And the joomla community still hands those scripts out like candy. For an example - when I was using joomla there was a downloads script called docman. It had not been updated in 2 years, but it was still one of the favorite add-ons to manage downloads.

The joomla community does a poor job of ensuring that each add-on is secure and stays updated. You might download a script from joomla.org that has not been updated for years, has known security holes and then your site will be hacked. Then whatcha gonna do?

I ran a joomla site for around 6 - 7 months. Lets just say that I was not impressed with how serious the joomla community took security.

If you want a second opinion, do a couple of searches here on digital point. Do a search for "joomla hacked" and then a search for "drupal hacked" - and see how many results you get of each. Then go to google and do the same searches. After you read a few dozen "help me, my joomla site has been hacked" threads, I'am pretty sure you will pick Drupal.
