Joomla optimization needed

    hello there
    i am running a really small joomla site but the site is way too slow

    my host is a vps with
    30GB of Hard Drive Space
    512MB of ram (Burstable to 1GB)
    2 IP Address

    but as i said the site is way to slow

    i talked to the vps support and they told me tha some cache plugins need to be installed

    so since i dont know how to make the site faster i thought i should get some help here

    note : this is an extremely limited budget job since the site doesnt have about anything in it yet and only i am accessing it
