OK, so this type of menu entry SHOULD display a target page with a list of Categories belonging to the section, with the optional "Section Description" and other options. But the list just doesn't appear, only the description, i.e. no category list. I have combed the options, and can't find anything wrongly set. It's getting really annoying, especially as I have got it working fine before. Anyone else had this happen and have a really obvious solution?
Yes, but I had checked "Show empty categories" anyway. I have managed to achieve the exact effect on another site, all the setting look the same, yet...
