How long does it take to install joomla, given a typical resellers account with WHM and CPanel?

    Thanks,

    Jon

Very quick, there is a few files to upload so thats probably the longest part, the other is editing the config files but this can be done via the browser install. Remember to delete the installation directory

I can get one installed in about 5 mins. What takes the time is (if you haven't done one before) is configuring it but it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Can you manage multiple sites from one installation of Joomla, or do you need one installation per site?

I love the templates. Do you get a bunch for free or do you just get one to play with and all the others are paid?

You get 2 or 3 with the installation but there are loads of free ones about too (google). What I have found is that a lot of templates from Mambo 4.5 and up work perfectly with Joomla too.

I am soooo excited about using this CMS. Normally, I have spent hours and hours sorting out navigation, templates, you name it. Then its a pain to add content.

Looks like this is a start of a new era for me. Did you find that when you made the switch to a CMS system from hand creating your sites?

Theres a certain satisfaction about hand coding your own sites but I just dont have the time now.The site I'm working on now is using Joomla and its so easy to add content etc.Another thing I find is it doesn't seem to harm my position in SE's using this CMS.

Good luck with your new project :)

Quick questions, MKInfo, did you change an existing site over to Joomla and retain your position and, if so, how long since the change?

OK, no worries :) I have a legacy site that I'm switching to Joomla, I know there's a ton of work to be done to even *attempt* to retain any rankings
