Hi everyone... I'm fairly new to joomla and am a bit confused with the way this works. My client has a site http://mytextalk.com and has asked me to put in the correct titles and metas for 5 different pages. I thought i could handle this being that i've worked with joomla before but everything in this system is so confusing. I'm trying to find the pages that she wants me to put the metas in. I thought titles/meta tags etc...could be put into the main and sub templates of the site but this isn't how it works. looks like i have to put them in each page? i have to put metas on the home page as well as 4 other pages. where do i go to find the home page? where do i get the metas from? can i just go to addme.com and generate tags and copy and paste them into her pages? thanks for the tips in advance. much appreciated. drew
i figured out the metas...pretty easy...what's frustrating though is finding the pages. for example this page http://mytextalk.com/texting. i can't find that texting file ANYWHERE. this is what's so frustrating about joomla. if there's a page called texting, i should be able to find it under category manager or section manager. somewhere...but it's nowhere!
The SEF url is driven by the article alias - you won't find it via section or category manager. The alias defaults to the article title - so have a look in the article manager.
You can go to Menu -> Main menu -> Home Look at Parameters (System) in right panel, and then change 'Page Title'. _http://www.joomlablogger.net/joomla-tips/joomla-general-tips/change-welcome-to-frontpage-title-joomla/ This is very easy, why not googling first.
