    Hello, everyone,
I need help with SEF URLs. I'm using Joomla, and I followed all the directions to enable SEF feature in the backend. While my pages showed up and displayed nicely, my 3rd party components (which are very important to my site) got all messed up. Please help!

If I'm posting in the wrong category , please let me know.

Have you disabled them from the administration panel?

Yes, they are disabled right now, because I use phocadownload component and Ijoomla digistore component for my shop and they get "messed up" when I enable it. It's a live site and I don't want to play around without knowing what to do...:(

A friend of mine working in a webdesign company had something like this happening i believe, i can try and ask him but i know that if i had that problem he'd send me to the joomla forum.

But by the way, which joomla version are you using?

    Provide some more info please.

I'm using 1.5.9 and I'll look to Joomla forum as well. I'm just hoping somebody had that issue and found the way to solve it...

    Hi!
I recommend you to look at sh404SEF to make them maximum search engine friendly. Use a .htaccess rewrite and do a 301 permanent redirect on old URLs and also permanently redirect http://domain.com to http://www.domain.com.

Then you find sh404SEF plugins for your other components and this will work like a charm :)

    Good luck! :)

I second using sh404sef, it has lots of extentions to make friendly URLs for various components, and for those it doesn't have you can get someone to make one or simply disable sef URLs for that component. Using the standard Joomla SEF option isn't very good really, I don't think it is anyway.
