I'm having problem installing a simple plugin called Ajax shoutbox. I was able to install it locally without problem but can't install in the test site. I already chmod to 777 the folders but still not working. i'm receiving the error in the attached image. any ideas how to? help appreciated.
According to that error, it says cannot create folder. Have you tried to manually create the folder in the location it is required? Try that and see how you go!
You said you have already CHMOD'd the folders, but which ones? Go to Help --> System info and then click on the Directory Permissions link. See if there are any folders marked as unwritable. If there are, CHMOD them so you can write to the folders.
my bad . I am looking now at those unwritable folders. i guess you hit the spot, ill get back and chmod those files and reinstall the plugin again
ok. i already changed file permissions, its now all green and writable. but still, the same thing happens?
funny, i typed ajaxshoutbox into google since i wanted to know what it does and found a link back to this thread. google parses this site quick!
Hi There, Seems like you have done everything right so far. There is no way for me to tell what is going on without logging into your site and having a look. If you want me to do that, PM me and I can see what I can do! Also, who are you using to host your website? Could be a problem with your host. Have you had any problems with other plugins you have tried to install? Also, did you make sure you got the Joomla 1.5 version of the plugin?? If you got the wrong version, it will not work! Cheers
