Hi, Someone has recommended using Joomla for the purpose of creating and editing a database. Does anyone have any examples of sites that use Joomla in this way? Thanks, Matt.
I'd get back to "someone" and tell him to keep his incorrect opinions to himself. Joomla is used to use the data in a database, not to create one. (There are cases where you'd create a database on the fly, but I doubt that more than 5% of "web developers" even know why you would do that, let alone how to do it.)
Hi Matt, Yes, this is incorrect. The question is, what do you want to create a database for? What are you trying to do? Get a web hosting package and open PHPMyAdmin is the easiest way. You will generally need to access the database from a script if you want to do anything with the data in it. Joomla has a defined database and has a platform that allow you to manage various tables of content that together, once configured and programmed, creates your website/web application. I am not a huge fan of Joomla to be honest, maybe you should look at wordpress if you are trying to create a website, it is simpler. Kind Regards Jamie
lol thats funny. joomla is good content management system. not database management i think. btw i can create themes for joomla. u just show me a sample website.
