Hi, I hired a web developer to build me a website using Joomla but this developer has added a SEO component to my invoice of $200 which silly me has paid for.

I only realised months later i could of done this myself by uploading this free component to my website without paying.

Can such person sell and charge me for a third party Joomla component.

I understand Joomla CMS is an open source software and can be sold by other people but for the modules and components used, can these be sold for money as additional products?

$200 for an seo component installation is way too much, installing component in joomla is so damn easy

It's really so expensive!!! If the component is doing by programmer, maybe we can accept it.. But it's only free

It's in the category of "not right", but it's certainly legal. He even itemized it correctly. So, yes, he overcharged, but he was upfront about it.

Unless there was some other service to go with it. Did he perhaps use it to add keywords to your existing pages? If so, that could be time consuming work if you had a lot of pages.
