    Hi,

For a pets related site you can mould any CMS to suit your needs. Joomla is your safest bet as it is easy to use and manage for a beginner and novice. Drupal is an excellent alternative.

I would suggest you visit opensourcecms.com and check the demos of a few cms. But really Joomla and Drupal are very customizable.

Actually Pets related web site does not mean a thing, you will need to give us what functions you need, for eg CMS, forums, blogs, classifieds etc so that we may be able to help but giving you suggestions. Joomla can be use for a lot of things but whether is it suitable for you depends on your requirements. The more info you are able to give, the better and accurate suggestions we can offer.

Actually Joomla is a lightweight script. You have as mentioned above Drupal as an option. Then you have php nuke and post nuke.

Amongst the paid ones you have subdreamer and expression engine.

An expert can also create a custom cms to fit your needs.

Id suggest Joomla to be honest, don't fear it. It can be a bit daunting but if I can understand it then anyone can :)

That's a bit of an overstatement. If you compare it to SugarCRM then it's lightweight otherwise Joomla tends to overuse resources.

This site is using Joomla if you want a pet example: Shih Tzu Planet - it's a had a few little tweaks but you can do a lot more with it, like adding videos and an image gallery etc.
