Joomla 404 Question

Alright so I'm having two problems with joomla. For a couple of my sites I deleted the default data before adding new articles and changed templates and now associated those menu items with new articles, but the menus are going to 404 error pages which are not the standard joomla 404 page, but just give a: 404 Not Found
The requested URL /destinations does not exist.

Any thoughts or suggestions on how to fix this?

Do you enable SEF option on your global configuration? If you do try to disable it first. Then maybe you need to clean all cache that may exist.

Yes, SEF / Mod Rewrite is enabled. Disabling it still resulted in 404 Not Found The requested URL /destinations does not exist and not the default joomla 404 page.
