i just got this theme today from a friend... and before you jump to conclusions, i paid for the theme. a friend of mine is a yootheme member and i asked him if he could get me the phoenix theme, and pay him $40. he agreed and sent me the theme. i got it installed on my website... http://www5(dot)hamelton(dot)net/ and what i don't understand is how they got the phoenix demo at http://demo.yootheme.com/jul09/index.php i would also like to know how to get the body and the modules in the same position. i have my own content i am putting on there. if anyone can please tell me how to do this, please, i would greatly appreciate it. the main thing is the dropdown menu at the top. i want the login form in it and the style chooser and to know how to make multiple columns inside the dropdowns. please, can someone tell me how? please and thank you.
you need to do the editing part...Its not automatic.... you need to install the required plugins and components If you need help you can always ask me...
how much experience do you have with yoothemes? is there anyone online right now that can maybe help me out? please. i need help with the menu.
I have been using quite a number of joomla premium templates...so you shouldn't be bothering about my experience PM sent
would anyone happen to have a copy of the demo_content.sql for Phoenix because for some reason, mine is blank... it says the file size is 0 kb. if anyone has a copy, that is the solution to my problem because i found out that when you import the sql file, it loads everything like the demo.
I really don't understand what your problem is.... please be a bit more clear..so that I may help you out...
i am having trouble placing the modules as they appear in the demo. if i import the demo contect sql file to the database, it will do that for me. i found the sql file but its empty... i need a copy of one that works. that way, i can do that instead and i can learn how its done by checking to see what they done.
If you want to set up exactly like how it is in the demo...then just set up the modules and components in their respective places (like how it is in demo)and your site should be up and running...
forget about the demo content, install the modules and extensions... add your content and then start moving it around to match the demo... shot me a PM if your having troubles and i'll sort it out for you.
I am modifying the yootheme phoenix template (extensively) and have had a problem with the bottom modules positions (footer in this case, but it applies to bottom, footer, bottomblock) It is a few pixels shy of the above template width. The entire template has a border and I can't seem to find where to make the adjustment to get the footer the same width. Hours spent, and I am lost. Any clues?
wish I could post at Yootheme. My subscription has run out and at the present time I'm unable to post there. I found this thread and saw there was some knowledge so I thought I'd try. It only took a couple minutes to post, versus the hours of looking through every file and folder for a clue.
It is the same on every page, no matter if there are other modules filled like in the snippet jpg. On an empty page it reads the same. I can't for the life of me find where this width change comes in. All because I have a bottom menu I need and it has to rest cleanly on the bottom edge. It's these little details that can drive one crazy and monitor blind.
Are you still looking for a solution for this?? Most premium template sites offer two downloads per template - one is the plain template file(with the extensions etc) and the other is a demo installer (which contains a copy of joomla - and when installed sets up the site just like the demo) If you have purchased this template - ask your friend to provide you with the require files - and if he is downloading it from their website - the sql file should not be empty
