I'm looking for a Template (And backend modules) to create a Directory Site where users can add their own listings. When I search for this all I find is Directories of Joomla sites. I have found TemplatePlazza and their "DirectoryPlazza" and while it looks okay it doesn't appear to be updated for Joomla 1.5. I am also less than impressed with their support forums. I am NOT looking for free. I'm looking for functional. I don't want to waste a lot of time with CSS and FIXING the back end. If you know of such a beast please post or Message me. Thanks
You can try SiteGround, RocketTheme, or JoomlaArt. Why not go to joomla.org and checkou their recommended template developers.
Pickings are very slim. If you want to create a directory I highly recommend you use a directory script such as PHPLD. jReviews is the only directory-like script that I found running on Joomla, but it is not yet available for 1.5. The port to 1.5 is taking a very long time. Rich
Dude, for Directory, you can use SOBI2 Component. Its specially a directory website component only. And if you want a good theme for it,then i will recommend you to use Joomlart.com's JA EDENITE. Its a nice theme and its best compatible for Directories. if you need any help regarding Joomla, then feel free to PM me or contact me via IM. Thanks..
You Can Use Joomlart.com they good are 1 in the history of Joomla! Their template is follow the SEO rules. anyway you can use some one else for a custom development that will be more good. here is my joomla services thread : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=849083 there i descried some quality of a template. please take a look at it. I am ready to help you in anything please pm me or post. thanks.
Mosets Tree is "ok", but it's by no means an intuitive directory. I ran a large directory using Joomla and the biggest complaint I had was the format & the process users had to go through to add an entry. I switched to PHPLD and haven't looked back. It's much easier and the people think that it's great. Plus, it seems to be pretty much the standard.
