Hi everybody. Would anyone with a free 2-5 minutes take a look and review my site? http://passthefunny.com I would like some feedback in the usability and functionality of the site more than just the content. The content is a bit stale and I'm looking to jumpstart it but I think part of the slow submissions is due to some usability functions in my submit form. I re-worked the submit form, and added a moderation quee. I also have a few dynamic widgets on the sides that should make it attractive and fresh to new visitors. Your suggestions, recommendations ideas and overall feedback are welcome. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the quick reviews. I was hoping to get some feedback on the submission form. Am I asking for too much information from the user? What are best practices on this kind of stuff? Thanks
I think the submission gets a little long and heavy handed. Is a Captcha really necessary for a joke site?
I really like your site. I like the theme you picked there. One thing I would remove is the statement above the logo, "serious source of fun... ...to our outbox." So, just remove that, but everything else is fine.
@bigirishdude. Noted and yeah you're right. Probably not needed. I've now removed it and also the category selection, apparently this is a deterrent? I'll categorize them myself as they get submitted. @bigtime2. Thanks, if anyone is interested, the theme is Cutline. Should I remove it to bump up the banner to the top, or should I change the wording because it doesn't sound right? I'll also try to come up with a better title/tag line. Thanks.
The statement itself is fine. It just does not look good. Look at a few other sites for example. This forum - has a logo on the left and an add on the right nothing above it. MSNBC.com - logo on the left and a search box and some links to the right. TechCrunch.com - logo on the left and a banner on the right. Cnn.com - Logo on the left and a search box, with some links on the right... Not one of these sites have a statement of some sort above their logo like you do. Thats what I tried to say.
